CLEVEDON - 2008 Piano Hinge Book

This was a book that I made last year (2008). Thank you to my dear friend, Katrina, who showed me how to make it. It covers 2 occasions, roughly a year apart, when Charlie visited Clevedon. I really enjoyed making it and shall use this type of book again. I made the beads that are on the ends of the skewers from heavy-weight paper. Photos of the book aren't that great - need to take them on a different background I think.

Riverdance - The Farewell Tour

Went to the Hippodrome last night with Vikki and Ami and sat captivated for 2 hours. The show was terrific and we were also very impressed with the four musicians. So glad we decided to go. Thank you to Vikki who is brilliant at organising theatre trips. I collected Ami and we drove to Planet Pizza,Ami having pre-ordered our takeaway pizzas, which we ate at Vikki's flat before walking down Park Street to the theatre. It was pouring with rain so we arrived a tad damp! Vikki slithered down Park Street in her pseudo-Uggs with non-grip treads. Put me in a panic so I then proceeded to walk like a duck as if there was black ice under foot - took me a fair while to get down there and my poor legs ached like billy-o at the bottom. I suggested we get a taxi back up the hill when we came out - my excuse was it was raining! Thank you Vikki and Ami for such a wonderful night - love you.

2006 Layouts - 12 x 12

LO 1 - Precious Little Parts: I remember this LO was a class/challenge by Anna Bowkiss on a small forum (cyber crop) I belong to. Little elements of Charlie.LO 2 - Motherhood: This one is a class I did with Lynn Cooper at a crop and it is a photo of took of Ami holding Charlie just a couple of days after he had been born. Later on I did a very tiny version of it and framed it and gave it to Ami for mothers day - she has had it on display in her home ever since.LO 3 - Love In Bloom: This photo was taken at the same time (Charlie was just a couple of days old) and he is being held in his Daddy's hands. I think Charlie looks like a little angel sleeping there with a little smile on his face and it shows perfectly how tiny he is in that grown-up hand.LO 4 - When Nana Met Charlie: This photo was taken on the same day at the hospital. My first cuddle with my first grandchild. I couldn't get over how wonderful he felt in my arms ... I could have held that moment for ever and did not want to pass him back.LO 5 - The Wonder: Charlie is about 1 month old here. I used to take photos of him everytime I had him and this was one of my favourites. Mainly due to the funny little expression on his face where he is trying to focus on the bright light from the window behind him and also his lovely spikey hair! I framed this photo for Ami and Matt and they have it on their wall and also I gave one to Matt's Mum.

2009 First Layout - 6 x 12

A 6x12 which I haven't tried before but I'm glad I did. The first LO I've done for almost 2 years. It's a picture I took of Charlie when he was 3 months old whilst living in the other house. Now to work on the second one and I'm not as nervous.

Thanks Debbie for the "push" I needed to get there. xxx
